The A1(M) south joins the M1 and the M25 for London, a journey of roughly four hours in normal conditions. Many travellers prefer the train for speed, but a car is the better choice for groups, heavy luggage or an address far from a station. We quote the full journey as a fixed fare.

York's rail links are excellent between major stations, but villages and hotels beyond the cities are poorly served.
