Monaco has no commercial airport. The principality is served by Nice Côte d'Azur, about thirty to forty minutes along the coast, and by a helicopter service that links Nice to a heliport in Fontvieille in minutes. During the Grand Prix and the Yacht Show the principality closes to non-accredited vehicles; we arrange access passes or set down at the Monaco border and shuttle in.
Occasions and events in MonacoTerminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Nice are served by the same drive: the A8 east or, for a slower but scenic option, the Basse Corniche through Villefranche and Cap d'Ail. The motorway is quicker outside summer weekends, while the coast road is subject to its own congestion. The chauffeur chooses based on live traffic, not habit.
Helicopter transfers between Nice and Monaco take less than ten minutes in the air, avoiding the road altogether. Flights depend on weather and operator availability, so we always keep a car in reserve. If the helicopter cannot fly, the chauffeur switches to the road and tells you straight away.
Monaco's grand hotels have narrow forecourts and strict door rules, especially around the Casino Square. The chauffeur knows how to approach each, and when to avoid it. We pass your arrival time to the concierge ahead so bags are removed and the car can leave quickly.
