Mitte, Charlottenburg, Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg and the government quarter around the Reichstag each run on their own logic, and the new BER airport sits well south of all of them in Schönefeld. Berlin Brandenburg Airport lies in Schönefeld, around 25 km south-east of the centre. Since Tegel closed in 2020, all commercial traffic uses it.
