Passengers who fly to Zagreb for an Adriatic cruise travel on to Rijeka, about two hours southwest, or Split, around four hours south. Corporate travel in ZagrebRijeka is Croatia's main northern port, and the road from Zagreb runs on the A1 and A6 motorways, taking about two hours. Ships from several lines embark here, and the terminal is close to the old port. We aim to arrive well before check-in closes and set the departure from Zagreb by working back from your boarding time, with a buffer for roadworks and the summer tourist traffic. If your ship leaves late in the evening, we can instead collect you after a morning in Zagreb and still arrive with hours to spare.
Split is the gateway to the central Dalmatian coast and about four hours from Zagreb on the A1, which also runs beside the Velebit range. In July and August the motorway fills with holiday traffic, particularly on Saturdays. We therefore advise an early start, include a break for the passengers and plan the arrival so that boarding never depends on a clear road. Families with young children will find the break especially welcome, and child seats are free on request.
Many cruise guests flying in from afar prefer to rest in Zagreb before the long drive. We meet you at Franjo Tuđman Airport, take you to a Lower Town hotel and collect you the next morning for the coast. With a night in between, a flight delay or lost bag does not endanger the sailing, and you have a few hours to walk the Upper Town. It also gives you an evening in the Upper Town before the ship.
When the cruise ends, we meet you at the terminal and drive back to Zagreb Airport or a city hotel, again at a price set in advance. A flight home in the afternoon means collecting early after disembarkation, so we plan the schedule with you to avoid a rush. Luggage is loaded by the chauffeur, and child seats are free on request.
