Zakopane is around two hours, but the main road is notorious for slow traffic on summer weekends and ski-season Fridays and Sundays. We advise leaving early or late to avoid the worst of it. Winter conditions can affect the last stretch, and our vehicles run on winter tyres in season. We check the forecast and tell you if the plan needs to change. The valley road into the town is a bottleneck at weekends, so a short stop for lunch on the way sometimes saves time.
Longer cross-border journeys are possible. Prague is a long drive, Vienna and Budapest longer still, and each makes sense when a flight is not convenient or when you have luggage and a family. We quote a single fixed price with tolls and border time included, and we advise honestly on where a flight would be quicker. Prague, for example, is often better by air for a single traveller, but a family with luggage may prefer the road.
