Intercity & Long Distance in Rome, priced up front

Rome sits within day-trip range of some of Italy's best-known places. A chauffeured SUV lets you cover them at your own pace, with lunch where you choose. Fares are fixed, autostrada tolls are included and the driver can wait for your return, so a long day on the road costs no more than the figure agreed when you booked. The chauffeur will tell you honestly if a plan asks too much of one day.

Rome's ZTL restricted zones cover the historic centre with camera enforcement; we drop at the nearest legal boundary point and never risk a fine on your booking.

Airport transfers in Rome

Tivoli

Tivoli is around an hour away and has the Renaissance gardens of Villa d'Este and the ruins of Hadrian's Villa. Queues form late morning, so an early start helps. The driver drops you at the gate and waits, and the two sites fit comfortably into a single day with a lunch stop between them in the old town. Queues at Hadrian's Villa are shortest in the first hour after opening.

Naples, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast

Naples is about 2 hours 15 minutes on the A1. Many guests go on to Pompeii or Sorrento, and the full Amalfi Coast road is usually a separate day. We plan the order of stops to avoid the heat and the coach crowds, and we tell you honestly if the plan is too much for a single outing. Heat in July and August is strong, and we favour early starts and shaded lunch stops.

Florence and Tuscany

Florence is about three hours up the A1, with Siena and the Chianti estates in reach. Florence has a strict ZTL, so hotel access must be registered in advance, which we arrange. A one-way transfer to a Tuscan villa is a popular choice, with a lunch stop at a country restaurant on the way. Siena has its own ZTL, which the driver respects by leaving the car at the permitted car park.

Orvieto, Assisi and Umbria

Umbria's hill towns are a couple of hours north. The roads are scenic and slower, and lunch stops matter. We build in time and choose a route that suits your plans, with the car left at the base of each hill town where cars are not allowed to climb to the old centre. Hill towns can be reached by a short funicular or a steep walk, and the driver checks which suits you.

FAQ

Intercity & Long Distance in Rome — questions

How long does the drive from Rome to Naples take?

About 2 hours 15 minutes on the A1 in normal traffic. We add a margin on Friday afternoons and holiday weekends, and the fare is fixed regardless.

How long is the journey to Florence?

About three hours by the A1. We arrange hotel access in Florence's ZTL in advance, so the arrival at your hotel door goes smoothly. We also confirm the hotel arrangements in the ZTL with the property before you leave Rome.

Are tolls included in the quoted price?

Yes. The fixed fare includes autostrada tolls, parking, taxes and gratuity, so there is nothing to pay on the road or at the destination. The fare stays the same if traffic slows.

Can I do a day trip and return to Rome on the same day?

Yes. We price the return with a waiting window agreed in advance, so a day at Tivoli or Pompeii has no surprise charges when the chauffeur brings you back.
